Community Engagement #3

Introducing Manresa Wilds

On Sunday, July 13, we gathered at The Point at Norwalk Cove for our third Community Engagement event—a celebration that brought neighbors, families, and local partners together to share in the future of Manresa Island. With more than 1000 guests in attendance, activities for all ages, and opportunities to connect with the project team, it was an afternoon full of energy.

A major highlight of the day was sharing our next chapter: Manresa Wilds—the new name and brand identity guiding this work forward. Manresa Wilds reflects what we’re building toward: a welcoming, nature-forward public park shaped by community input and designed for exploration, gathering, and belonging.

Community-day highlights

Attendees enjoyed:

  • A performance by the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet
  • A puppet-making workshop with Stepping Stones
  • Local food and beverages available for purchase from partners including Bloom & Son’s Copps Island Oysters, and Space Cat

Many guests also went home with a first look at official park merchandise as we introduced the Manresa Wilds brand. Thank you to everyone who came out, shared feedback, and celebrated this exciting milestone with us. We’re proud to be building the future of Manresa Wilds together.
